The opportunity
The Area Sales Manager position is a part of the German Sales team responsible for the German speaking customers within Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. As our new Area Sales Manager, you will report to the Regional Sales Manager and work together in a team with 3 Inside Sales Representatives. As we expand our Sales team in Duisburg, we are eager to welcome talented individuals to our team.

NewPort Tank Containers specializes in the transport of chemical liquids, foodstuffs and gas in tank containers. Our activities have an international character. We are represented worldwide with our own offices and a large network of agents.
Responsibilities
Developing and executing an Area Sales Plan tailored to the regional sales strategy.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including shipping companies, logistics providers, and industrial clients.
Understanding customer needs and providing expert solutions using NewPort's product offerings.
Conducting market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities.
Providing regular sales forecasts, reports, and market insights to the management team.
Representing NewPort at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
Identifying opportunities to improve services to elevate sales results.
Daily tasks
Communicate with customers on progress and quality of operational activities and reach agreements on goals and objectives.
Determine rates, price agreements and sales conditions for products within the guidelines.
Assess risks in relation to customer requirements and their implications for the service. Advise on required actions.
Report findings on customer satisfaction to internal stakeholders.
Analyze operational problem areas and investigate new opportunities and investments to help NewPort improve and expand the business.
Acquire new customers for desired products/destinations within the prescribed policy frameworks, in accordance with the predetermined goals.
Supply information on the NewPort products and services provided by giving presentations and conducting sales calls.
Travelling frequently within Germany to meet clients, partners, and attend industry events.
Who are we looking for?
3+ years of sales experience in the tank container operating industry or transport/logistic.
Strong understanding of the German market, business practices, and cultural nuances.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Wide network in the German tank container logistics market.
Self-motivated and results-driven with a demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Willingness to travel frequently within Germany and occasionally internationally.
Proficiency in both English and German languages.
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
