Health and safety

Working with hazardous liquids on a daily basis, safety is the main priority at NewPort. Our well-maintained fleet and highly trained personnel are equipped to meet all safety standards, mitigating potential risks and safeguarding the environment in which we operate.

We cultivate a culture of safety with clear expectations and guidelines for our employees, but also for our customers, suppliers and partners. We encourage ownership throughout all layers of the organization and actively report any safety concerns. Likewise, we conduct regular safety audits to identify hazards and improve the processes within our operations.
We have established key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure our safety performance, and we closely check this progress. Our data analysts analyze this data for identifying trends and potential opportunities for improvement. It goes without saying that we ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and regulations. We prioritized hazardous materials, fire safety, and emergency preparedness.

 

NewPort’s certifications

To ensure health and safety of all parties involved in our business, we have acquired multiple certifications. A selection of them can be found below:

ITCO

The ITCO certificate is proof that a company complies with globally recognized safety and quality standards for tank container operations, ensuring safe and reliable transport of bulk liquids and gases. The ITCO (International Tank Container Organization) represents 170 members within the international tank container industry.

Halal

Halal Correct Certification provides certification of manufacturers and suppliers of halal products, being in compliance with ISO 9001:2015.

Kosher

Kosher certificates are exclusively delivered to factories and companies that are either strictly kosher, or of which the products can be produced in a kosher way.

C-TPAT

The C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) is a voluntary supply chain security program led by U.S. CBP (Customs and Border Protection) and focused on improving the security of private companies’ supply chains with respect to terrorism.

FENEX

FENEX members are freight forwarders and logistics services providers. As organisers of the transport chain, freight forwarders attach major importance to stability in service, capacity and rate.

ISO certifications for NewPort China

Our NewPort China office in Shanghai has been audited by DNV for several ISO standards. We have been awarded the following certificates.
